The Ouabache Land Conservancy invites all nature enthusiasts to a spring wildflower and bird watching hike of the Atherton Island Natural Area near Lyford in Parke County on Saturday, April 29 at 1:00 pm. The hike will be led by University of Illinois Research Scientist Dr. James Nardi. OLC Board and Advisory Board members Phil Cox, Denise Marie Sobieski, Marty Jones, and Peter Scott will also join in and share about the plants and migrating birds that are encountered. The terrain is moderate to sometimes rugged, therefore appropriate hiking apparel is recommended. This is a free program, however, due to limited parking, contact OLC via email at phil@ouabachelandconservancy.org to make reservations and get directions.
